An alleged member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stirred reactions after openly criticising the current state of the country despite being part of the ruling party.

The APC member questioned the narrative surrounding Nigeria’s economic hardship, especially claims linking global events like the Iran-US conflict to rising hunger in the country.

    In his words, he said:

“I’m an APC member, but I tell you people that if we put election on ground, free and fair for people to vote their hearts, the answer is Tinubu won’t win. How do we explain that a war going on in Iran is why people are hungry in Nigeria?”

The statement comes amid growing concerns over the rising cost of living, with many Nigerians struggling to afford basic necessities.

The APC member also claimed that certain elements within the ruling party are weakening opposition voices, describing the situation as troubling for democracy.

“Some elements in APC are stopping opposition parties from existing; it is a bad thing. Allow the opposition to exist so that parties can sit up, do what’s right, and nobody will be thinking of japa,” he said.

The comment has added to ongoing political discussions, as Nigerians continue to debate governance, economic hardship, and the future of the country ahead of upcoming elections.
