Hoi An, Vietnam custom tailors can make $130 custom suits in 24–48 hours. We tested the famous Hoi An tailoring experience while exploring its food, lanterns, basket boats, and culture. Before arriving in Hội An (hoy ahn), I asked Google one question: Where is the best place in the world to get custom clothes made in 24 hours? Nearly every result pointed here. We visited Blue Eye Tailor and ordered four custom suits, four linen outfits, and two dress shirts. My complete order cost $950, with each suit averaging around $130. I also ordered a pair of custom-made sandals for only $20. We chose our designs, searched through thousands of fabrics, took our measurements, and then gave Tea and her team just 24 to 48 hours to bring everything to life. But would they finish on time—and would any of it actually fit? While the tailors worked against the clock, we explored the food, people, and traditions that make Hội An one of the most beautiful destinations in Vietnam. We tasted bánh mì (bahn mee), White Rose dumplings, fried wontons, cao lầu (cow low), black sesame pudding, herbal tea, and some unforgettable local seafood. We even met the 102-year-old woman who helped turn one family’s black sesame recipe into a Hội An tradition. We cruised beneath the lanterns, made custom sandals, explored the Bảy Mẫu Coconut Forest (bye mow), spun through the waterways in traditional basket boats, caught crabs, made Vietnamese coffee and lanterns, and learned how to cook Vietnamese dishes. We also visited a rice farmer, worked with a water buffalo, and traveled offshore to snorkel around Cù Lao Chàm (koo lao chahm), part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Everything eventually led back to the final fitting. Did Hội An live up to its reputation as the custom-clothing capital of the world? Watch until the end for the complete custom wardrobe reveal. ⸻ CHAPTERS 00:00 Welcome to Hội An 02:00 Can Vietnam Make Clothes in 24 Hours? 03:30 Choosing Our Tailor and Fabrics 07:00 Hội An Food Tour 14:00 Meeting a 102-Year-Old Local Legend 17:00 The Lantern City at Night 19:40 Custom-Made Sandals 21:00 Bảy Mẫu Basket Boats 23:30 Vietnamese Coffee and Lantern Making 24:30 Hội An Cooking Class 25:30 Farming Rice With a Water Buffalo 30:50 Our First Tailor Fitting 35:25 Snorkeling at Cù Lao Chàm 38:30 Final Clothing Reveal 42:15 The Best Restaurant44:00 Was It Worth It? ⸻ Planning your own Hội An adventure?
