Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has encouraged graduates to embrace legitimate jobs regardless of their status, saying no honest work is too small.

In a social media post, Ossai argued that many people underestimate the earning potential of seemingly low-profile jobs.

He urged Nigerians not to allow pride or educational qualifications to stop them from taking available opportunities.

    Ossai shares gateman’s earnings

According to him, the gateman in his estate earns a monthly salary of ₦70,000 but significantly boosts his income through additional services.

He wrote, A graduate can be a gateman and God will still bless him.”

Explaining further, Ossai said the estate has 16 flats and about 15 vehicles, adding that the gateman washes the cars daily for ₦1,000 each because residents find it cheaper than using a commercial car wash.

He also revealed that the worker handles laundry for five residents every weekend at ₦1,500 per person, estimating that the combined income from his salary and side jobs amounts to nearly ₦550,000 monthly.

    ‘Don’t look down on anybody’

Ossai urged people not to judge others based on their occupation, stressing that appearances can be misleading.

Don’t look down on anybody because the people you feel are not making it are actually making it more than you,” he said.

He also encouraged Nigerians to pursue every legitimate opportunity available to earn a living.

Also, whatever you can do to make money, do it legally. Nothing is too small to do to make money. Don’t let your degree make you start having pride that you can’t do some things.

You can do all things. You will be disappointed in yourself if you feel too big to do something,” he added.
