Nigerian striker Akor Adams enjoyed a dream debut for Venezia FC, netting a brace to inspire a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Modena FC in the Coppa Italia on Saturday.

The high-profile summer signing, who recently arrived from Spanish La Liga side Sevilla, was directly involved in all three goals to fire his new team into the next round.

Playing at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, Venezia found themselves under immediate pressure. Modena took an early lead in the 17th minute through Giuseppe Ambrosino.

Adams quickly responded for the hosts, leveling the game in the 26th minute. However, Ambrosino struck again just before halftime to restore Modena’s advantage, leaving the home side trailing 2-1 at the break.
