Arsenal players will switch back into their traditional red and white home kit before lifting the Premier League trophy after Sunday’s final-day clash against Crystal Palace.

Mikel Arteta’s side secured the league title earlier this week after Manchester City dropped points in a draw against Bournemouth, ending Arsenal’s 22-year wait for the Premier League crown.

The Gunners travel to Selhurst Park for their final match of the campaign, but they will not wear their famous home colours during the game itself because of a kit clash with Crystal Palace’s red-and-blue strip.

Instead, Arsenal are expected to play the match in their white away kit before changing outfits for the official trophy presentation.

    Arsenal want iconic trophy images

According to reports, the decision was made to ensure the club’s title celebrations and official photographs reflect Arsenal’s traditional identity.

Captain Martin Odegaard and his teammates will reportedly return to the dressing room after full-time to swap into the home strip before collecting their medals and lifting the trophy.

The move will allow Arsenal’s title-winning images to feature the club’s iconic red shirts rather than an alternative kit.

While Arsenal change, Crystal Palace are expected to complete their usual end-of-season lap of appreciation in front of their supporters at Selhurst Park.

Arteta focused on celebrations and Champions League final

Arteta admitted his squad briefly celebrated clinching the title after Manchester City’s slip against Bournemouth, but said attention has already shifted toward finishing the season strongly.

“We had 48 hours to enjoy the success of winning the league. Now, we’re going to prepare really well and we’re going to now lift again our habits and the standards that we normally do things to be the best possible way to compete,” Arteta said.

The Arsenal manager also stressed the importance of properly celebrating with supporters before the club turns its attention to the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain next weekend.

“On Sunday, we’ll have a little window there again to celebrate, to lift the trophy in a manner that deserves it, to connect with the people that we have constantly around us,” he added.

Arsenal will face PSG in the Champions League final on May 30 as they attempt to complete a historic league and European double.
