    Metro Atlanta has one of the highest rates of new HIV diagnoses in the country, and Black residents continue to be disproportionately affected. In 2021, Black people accounted for 72% of new HIV diagnoses in the Atlanta metro area. Now, concerns are growing as federal HIV prevention funding for community-based organizations is being redirected, raising questions about testing, treatment access, and whether vulnerable communities could be left behind.
