Boomman sides with Gucci Mane in the Pooh Shiesty fallout as Loon pushes back with Big Scarr, prison, loyalty and the broken 1017 relationship—before turning Boomman’s own CEO argument back on him. Boomman sides with Gucci Mane in the Pooh Shiesty fallout as Loon pushes back with Big Scarr, prison, loyalty and the broken 1017 relationship—before turning Boomman’s own CEO argument back on him. In this clip from It’s Up There, Boomman and Loon collide over the relationship between an artist and the executive who helped change that artist’s life. The debate begins with Gucci Mane, Pooh Shiesty and Big Scarr. Boomman argues that artists will sometimes remain loyal to people and situations that hurt them, yet turn against executives who invested in them, created opportunities and helped change their lives. Loon argues that the situation cannot be understood through business alone. He raises Pooh Shiesty being incarcerated, Big Scarr’s death, the public fallout surrounding Scarr’s funeral, broken communication and the growing feeling that an artist can become trapped inside a business relationship he no longer trusts. That disagreement matters even more now. Federal prosecutors allege the January 2026 Dallas confrontation involving Pooh Shiesty stemmed from a dispute over his 1017 recording contract. Court filings later included video that prosecutors say shows a label owner being pressured to declare Pooh Shiesty released from the deal. Those allegations remain part of an unresolved federal case. Boomman’s position is still direct: If you voluntarily sign an agreement, you have a responsibility to honor it. He then pushes the argument further, questioning how rappers can glorify robbing, stealing, “sliming” people and running off on others—then refuse responsibility for contracts they voluntarily signed. Loon challenges that reasoning. Does a signature end every moral obligation an executive has to an artist? And does helping launch someone’s career guarantee loyalty forever? Then Loon turns Boomman’s Gucci Mane argument directly back toward him. Could Boomman eventually find himself in the same position—surrounded by artists who feel trapped, angry or betrayed? Boomman admits nobody is invincible: “Anybody could get touched.” The conversation later shifts to Boomman’s own business model. Boomman says he paid Gucci Mane $100,000 on multiple occasions to create opportunities for independent artists. Loon then asks one of the hardest questions in the entire conversation: Was Boomman really spending that money to help independent artists—or was he also using those artists to gain access to the rap world he once dreamed of entering himself? Who owes who loyalty when music becomes business? Watch the complete Boomman conversation with Loon on It’s Up There.
