    ESPN has parted ways with longtime NFL analyst Ryan Clark as the first move in a broader round of layoffs expected Tuesday, sources told The Athletic. Clark was informed of the decision Monday during his appearance on “NFL Live” and did not finish the program. According to the report, ESPN executives had soured on Clark over issues with some of his on-air choices. Tensions peaked with an on- and off-air incident involving colleague Peter Schrager in September 2025 that continued to factor into internal discussions about Clark’s future months later.
