Former New York Giants running back David Wilson is continuing his artistic evolution with his latest musical release. Dropping under David E. Wilson, the former first-round pick has officially released his new single, “4advice,” now available on Apple Music and all major digital streaming platforms.

From Gridiron Brilliance to Creative Expression

Selected 32nd overall in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech, Wilson quickly captured the hearts of Big Blue faithful. Known for his explosive open-field speed, game-breaking kickoff returns and signature end-zone backflips, his rookie campaign featured unforgettable highlights, most notably setting a Giants franchise single-game record with 327 all-purpose yards against the New Orleans Saints.

Though a career-altering neck injury cut his playing days short after just two seasons, Wilson’s drive and competitive energy never dissipated. Instead, he redirected that focus into full-time creative production across visual art, photography, music production and songwriting.

His journey behind the mic has been steady and deliberate. Building on a growing catalog that includes projects like And I Made This Beat and his signature “4…” track series, “4advice” represents a mature, introspective phase in his post-football life.

The Big Blue Connection Runs Deep

Despite shifting his primary focus to music and studio work, Wilson remains deeply tethered to the Giants organization and its community. In previous conversations with ScoopB.com, Wilson has frequently opened up about the emotional weight of watching current players navigate adversity, such as current Giants running back Cam Skattebo’s injury against the Philadelphia Eagles and how those moments trigger intense flashbacks to his own career transition.

“I always said if you can look up, you can get up,” Wilson recalled when reflecting on overcoming career setbacks. “There are millions waiting to see you stand tall.”

Whether offering brotherhood to the next generation of running backs or maintaining his unshakeable allegiance to the franchise, Wilson’s perspective stays rooted in the “Once a Giant, Always a Giant” code.

    ‘Creating Where I’m Going’

Reached directly after sending over the new track, Wilson reflected on the poetic timing of dropping “4advice” right as NFL training camps wrap up and the regular season kick-off looms.

“It’s wild how the story comes back around,” Wilson told ScoopB.com.

“Football was my first canvas, and now I get to paint with music and art. With the Giants stepping back onto the field, it feels like I’m watching where I came from while creating where I’m going.”

As NFL squads prepare for Week 1, Wilson continues to build out his independent creative catalog, proving that while the stadium lights may shift, the drive to create never fades.

“4advice” by David E. Wilson is available now on Apple Music.
