SummaryFootJoy announces the new Legends Series celebrating major championship momentsThe arrival of the Packard and Marquis 1776 confirms that collaborations have become less centralThe design pulls from the rich history of Philadelphia while delivering performance integrity for elite-level play2026 has confirmed that collaborations are no longer the default for FootJoy. We say this recognizing that the recently released Aimé Leon Dore x FootJoy Marquis was crowned by some as the best-looking golf shoe ever. But a few months earlier, The PLAYERS Championship came and went with no sign of the Players Shoe, a project developed with Jon Buscemi and one of the community’s most popular collaborations for years running. The Masters introduced something new altogether: a highly limited pair sold only on-site and online for FootJoy members. For the second major of the season, the brand has now laid its cards on the table. Where May previously meant the integration of Todd Snyder, this year FootJoy is running with the Legends Series—an assortment of limited releases inspired by the host cities of major championships. The Premiere Series Packard and Marquis 1776 pay homage to Philadelphia’s history, where the PGA Championship is staged next week. Beyond the more literal references like Liberty Bell emblems on the tongues, red, white and blue accents, the pairs wear their influences more subtly. The grayscale leather uppers nod to the city’s architecture: grey stone and granite blocks included. The pairs are set to drop on Tuesday, May 12, with more Legends Series releases to follow in June and July as the U.S. Open and Open Championship approach. For now, it’s fair to say that fans of FootJoy’s past collaborations will have to accept Aimé Leon Dore as the lone survivor.
