The Delaware State women’s wrestling team is building on a successful first year with new recruits, including a nationally top-ranked wrestler in her weight class.

Deionna Borders, ranked No. 1 at 235 pounds, highlights a new group of wrestlers recruited by head coach Kenya Sloan.

Borders first drew attention with an undefeated 2024-25 season in her home state of Ohio, where she won 47 matches without surrendering a single point.

Joining Borders will be NHSCA 165-lb. national champion Chloe Williams, former NJCAA 110-pound champion Ariah Mervilus and Beast of the East champion Willow White.

The new recruits, 9 new wrestlers in all, will join a team that sent two wrestlers, Louise Juitt and Icart Galumette, to the NCAA national championships this past February.
