SummaryHermès debuts the technically sophisticated H08 Squelette at Watches and Wonders 2026As the line’s first skeleton watch, it features a titanium H1978S movement and 39mm by 39mm cushion-shaped caseAvailable in blue and gray, with a variety of rubber strap optionsAt this year’s Watches & Wonders in Geneva, Hermès turns the spotlight on a singular model: the H08 Squelette. Since the launch of the original H08 in 2021, the Maison has strategically pivoted toward more technical and sophisticated expressions of the collection, recently highlighted by the introduction of monopusher chronographs. This year marks a significant milestone with the debut of the line’s first skeletonized timepiece, an object that celebrates transparency and technical complexity while remaining firmly rooted in the brand’s unique geometric universe. The Hermès H08 Squelette is an architectural marvel that reveals the mechanical soul of the collection through a unique structure three years in the making. Each bridge and screw within the movement has been meticulously designed as a supporting element, creating a metal frame defined by taut lines and carefully controlled voids that interact dynamically with light.Despite the lightness of its skeletonized design, the watch retains the sturdy, all-terrain spirit of its predecessors, housed in a 39mm by 39 mm cushion-shaped case made of black DLC-treated titanium. The aesthetic is further elevated by a sunburst satin-brushed ceramic bezel with mirror-polished chamfers, framing an openworked dial that eschews a date display to maintain a focus on pure geometry.Powering this new generation is the Manufacture Hermès H1978S movement, a new-generation mechanical skeleton caliber developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. Crafted from black PVD-treated titanium for enhanced robustness, the movement features a semi-square tungsten oscillating weight that echoes the distinctive shape of the H08 case. The timepiece offers a 60-hour power reserve and has undergone rigorous testing equivalent to a decade of continuous wear.Available in two distinct colorways - one featuring blue hour-markers and hands coated in blue SuperLuminova, and another with classic gray markers - the H08 Squelette is paired with a variety of rubber strap options, including Bleu Zanzibar, Noir and Bleu Abysse. Head over to Hermès' official website for more details regarding the H08 Squelette's pricing and availability.
