A Nigerian man has shared an emotional story about how he discovered that the widow of his late friend was not inflating her children’s school fees as he had been led to believe.

In a account shared online, he explained that he had been paying the children’s school fees since his friend passed away three years ago, describing it as one of the promises he made to him.

According to the man, someone recently called to inform him that the widow had been inflating the school fees while he continued to foot the bills.

“Someone called me to tell me that my late friend’s wife inflated her kids’ school fees as I have been the one paying since three years that my friend departed. It was one of the promises I made,” he wrote.

Concerned by the allegation, he decided to verify the information himself. He contacted the children’s school and requested details of the actual fees being paid.

To his surprise, the school informed him that he had been underpaying the fees by ₦17,000.

Shocked by the revelation, he arranged a meeting with the widow and asked why she never informed him about the increase.

The woman reportedly explained that the fees had been increased, but she chose not to tell him because she did not want to burden him further, considering all he had already done for her family.

The man later discovered that the allegation came from the widow’s elder sister. He said the widow broke down in tears after seeing the messages and call records.

He eventually paid the outstanding balance and prayed for widows and struggling mothers, while many online praised him for verifying the claim before judging her.
