Nigerian rapper Falz has said his advocacy against bad governance is not targeted at any specific politician or political party.

Speaking in a recent interview on Arise 360, the entertainer responded to questions about whether his outspoken views on governance had cost him business partnerships and professional opportunities.

Falz revealed that a group once approached his management for a potential partnership but later expressed concerns about his public stance on Nigerian politics.

He maintained, however, that his criticism has never singled out any politician or political party by name, stressing that his message is focused on governance and accountability.

According to the singer, anyone who feels personally attacked by his comments about bad governance may be identifying themselves with the problems he is speaking against.

He added that he would rather forgo opportunities than compromise on speaking what he believes is the truth, saying that if his position makes some organisations uncomfortable, then those partnerships were likely not meant for him.

“I’m not single handedly picking at anyone to antagonize. What I’m speaking to is the practice and not even really the people in particular. I’ve mentioned no name, I’ve mentioned no political part or whatever. So, in fact what they do say when speaking with my manager was something political but this is absolutely zero affiliation. I’m just talking about what is going on. If you have a problem with them, then you are the problem”, he stated.
