Expanding on its legendary series of cinematic timepieces, the ultra-luxury watchmaker has unveiled The Godfather II. Paying meticulous homage to Francis Ford Coppola's cinematic masterpiece, the new release actually makes horological history by serving as the world's very first double-melody musical watch. Striking a perfect balance between high-complication watchmaking and theatrical storytelling, the piece brings the movie's iconic soundtrack directly to the wrist. At the heart of the striking timepiece is the newly developed manual-winding Caliber JCAM62 movement, which is constructed from an astonishing 510 individual components. The watch's most groundbreaking feature is its integrated music box mechanism, which utilizes a single cylinder and an 18-tooth steel comb to mechanically play two distinct programmed tunes. By using a melody selector located at the 10 o'clock position and an activator at 8 o'clock, wearers can seamlessly choose between "The Godfather's Waltz" and "The Godfather Love Theme." Each melody plays for 15 to 20 seconds, and the music box holds enough power to play up to 10 times on a single wind.Beyond the acoustic marvels, the watch is a visual love letter to the mafia epic. The curved, 42x44mm Art Deco-inspired case is crafted from 18K rose gold and features numerous easter eggs for fans of the franchise. The black lacquered dial boasts a finely detailed portrait of Marlon Brando as Don Corleone alongside the franchise's signature puppet strings rendered in 3D appliqué.Thematic elements continue throughout the case design, including a crown featuring spiral grooves reminiscent of a gun barrel, an engraved rose motif along the case band, and a one-minute flying tourbillon. Turning the watch over reveals engraved bullet holes on the sapphire case back, alongside a beautiful viewing window that displays the music box cylinder and a plate engraved with the film's musical score. The Jacob & Co. The Godfather II is reserved strictly for the highest echelon of horology collectors and film enthusiasts. The watch is strictly limited to just 74 pieces globally—a deliberate nod to 1974, the year The Godfather Part II debuted in theaters.
