This release serves as a faithful tribute to World War II-era craftsmanship, reflecting a time when resource conservation dictated the design of everyday garments.True to the 1944 original, the silhouette features a streamlined construction to save raw materials for the war effort. Notable omissions include the watch pocket rivets, crotch rivets and back waist cinch. The hardware consists of standard-issue buttons with a laurel leaf design and unbranded rivets, while the high-waisted, regular fit maintains the iconic versatility of the jeans. Additionally, the denim fabric is dyed in pure indigo and singed during the finishing process to ensure a smooth, fuzz-free texture.Priced at ¥41,800 JPY (approx. $260 USD), the Levi’s Vintage Clothing 1944 501® Jeans Rigid will be available via an online lottery on the Levi’s official webstore starting January 29.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
