Name: Limited Edt x adidas Originals Superstar Consortium “Made in India”Colorway: TBCSKU: TBCMSRP: ₹11,999 INR/$179 SGD (approx. $125 USD - $140 USD)Release Date: August 8 (India), August 12 (Singapore)Where to Buy: Limited Edtadidas Originals and Limited Edt have unveiled the Superstar Consortium - “Made in India,” a heavily detailed reworking of the shell-toe icon limited to 350 individually numbered pairs worldwide. Released through adidas Originals' Consortium programme, it counts among the first entries to put Indian design at the center of the platform. The design leans on a peacock motif, a nod to India's national bird, that stretches across the upper, the insole and a translucent outsole. Layered over that are intricate vine patterns drawn from traditional textiles, festive embroidery and the ornamental detailing of centuries-old havelis. The Superstar's signature shell toe stays intact, while the finishing hardware does the heavy lifting on luxury: gold lace locks, jewellery-inspired aglets and gold foil branding. Accents of red and blue round out the palette, colors the brand ties to prosperity, purity and celebration. The package around the shoe is where the collectible ambition shows. Every pair arrives in a custom matchbox-inspired box, a reference to the ceremonial lighting of the first flame ahead of an auspicious occasion. Inside, buyers get a custom shoe bag, motif socks, and an alternate set of red and blue laces to swap in against the standard white and black pair, presented in a jewellery pouch. An individually numbered flame charm completes the set and reinforces the one-of-350 positioning. The collaboration carries a clear cultural thesis, one the retailer's founder makes explicit. "This collaboration is about more than a sneaker. It's about showing that Indian culture has a place within global sneaker design. The Superstar is an icon, and this project gave us the opportunity to reinterpret it through an authentically Indian lens while celebrating the craft and culture that continue to inspire us," said Mandeep Chopra, Founder of Limited Edt, in the release.Billed as the first India-origin sneaker collaboration to launch across Limited Edt's India and Singapore markets, the Superstar arrives in a unisex run spanning UK 3 to 13. With only 350 pairs in circulation and two staggered launch dates, this is one to move quickly on.
