LOV. Foundation and XTANT recently entered a long-term cultural partnership centered on craft, textiles and the preservation of creative knowledge across generations. The collaboration debuted in Mallorca this summer through lov.YATRA, an immersive program bringing together artists, cultural figures and changemakers for a closer look at the island’s living artistic landscape. Derived from the Sanskrit word yatra, meaning "a purposeful journey or pilgrimage," the initiative approached Mallorca as a place shaped by material traditions, collective memory and ongoing creative exchange. At the center of the program was the opening of XTANT Nomad, which convened an international community of artists, artisans, collectors, scholars and cultural practitioners working across contemporary craft. Through exhibitions, conversations and hands-on workshops, textile was positioned as both an artistic medium and a vessel for storytelling, ritual and cultural inheritance. The journey extended across Mallorca through private studio visits, galleries and several of the island’s most significant cultural sites. Participants explored Joan Miró’s former studios and archives at the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró, moved through areas of La Seu typically closed to the public and visited Can Vivot, a 14th-century palacio preserved by the same family for 21 generations. Moreover, a gathering at Son Moragues, set within the UNESCO-listed Serra de Tramuntana, connected artistic practice with regenerative agriculture and land stewardship. Culinary experiences at Brut Restaurant and Bar LaSang further explored how local ecosystems, fermentation and independent production contribute to the island’s wider creative identity.Rather than presenting heritage as something static, lov.YATRA examined how traditional knowledge continues to shift through the hands of contemporary artists and makers.
