Manchester City are reportedly preparing a move for Chelsea winger Pedro Neto as the Premier League giants explore the possibility of reuniting the Portugal international with manager Enzo Maresca.

Neto has emerged as a transfer target for City during the summer window, with AC Milan also monitoring the 26-year-old’s situation ahead of the new campaign.

Chelsea are understood to value the former Wolverhampton Wanderers winger at around £70 million and are not actively seeking to sell him, although a significant offer could prompt negotiations.

    Maresca keen on reunion

City’s interest is believed to have intensified after Maresca identified Neto as a player capable of fitting seamlessly into his attacking system.

The pair previously worked together at Chelsea before the Italian replaced Pep Guardiola as Manchester City’s head coach.

City have already strengthened their squad with the arrivals of Elliot Anderson and Jeremy Monga, but Maresca is reportedly keen to add further attacking quality before the transfer window closes.

    Milan also monitoring situation

Serie A giants AC Milan are also interested in signing Neto and have reportedly placed him high on their shortlist as they prepare for the possibility of Rafael Leao’s departure.

However, Milan’s chances of completing a deal depend on generating funds through player sales, with Leao’s future expected to determine their transfer plans.

Meanwhile, Neto has also been offered to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal by his representatives, but a move to the Middle East is considered unlikely. The Portuguese international is said to prefer remaining in European football at this stage of his career.

Chelsea signed Neto from Wolves in 2024 for an initial fee of around £54 million. Since then, he has made 103 appearances for the Blues, scoring 19 goals.

Despite interest from multiple clubs, Chelsea still regard the winger as an important member of Xabi Alonso’s squad.

However, after spending heavily in the transfer market, including a club-record deal for Morgan Rogers, the London club could consider offers that meet their valuation before the transfer window closes.
