A former classmate of NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi has shared memories of their time together at Christ the King College (CKC), Onitsha, describing the politician as someone who was already ahead of his peers from a young age.

In a video shared on social media, the man, identified as Mr Frank, said Obi showed strong business instincts even while they were still boarding students in Class Three, revealing that he would travel to Lagos to buy second-hand clothes and return to sell them to his classmates.

According to him, Obi’s early business activities showed that he had always been different from his peers and already had a clear sense of purpose.

“While we were in school back then, Peter Obi was already ahead of us because he was into business even while we were in Class Three as boarding students. He was a trader. He would go to Lagos, buy second-hand clothes and sell to us,” he said.

Mr Frank also spoke highly of Obi’s character, describing him as a man of substance who values truth and accountability.

He further suggested that Obi had always possessed qualities that pointed towards the person he would eventually become.

“He is the most dignified Nigerian. A man of substance, truth and accountability. There are some people that are born, and they already know what they will become. Peter is in that mode,” he added.

His comments have since attracted attention online, with supporters highlighting the former classmate’s account as an indication that Obi’s entrepreneurial spirit and leadership qualities date back to his school days, as he prepares for the 2027 general elections.
