GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Shaboozey has officially released his new single, “Burn It Down,” featuring Leon Bridges, via American Dogwood/EMPIRE.

The collaboration first caught listeners’ attention during Shaboozey’s NPR Tiny Desk Concert, where the chemistry between the two artists quickly became one of the performance’s standout moments. The newly released studio version preserves that same warmth while expanding the song’s soulful production and emotional weight.

Blending country storytelling, R&B soul and Americana influences, “Burn It Down” offers another glimpse into Shaboozey’s forthcoming album, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, scheduled for release on July 31.

    Shaboozey Reveals Star-Studded Album Tracklist

Earlier this week, Shaboozey revealed the album’s complete tracklist and featured collaborators through a cinematic trailer that premiered across his social media platforms in an exclusive collaboration with Spotify.

The project includes appearances from Kehlani, Gunna, Jamie Foxx, Sam Elliott, Orville Peck, Teyana Taylor and Leon Bridges.

With collaborators representing country, hip-hop, R&B, film and popular culture, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales is positioned as one of the summer’s most ambitious genre-crossing releases.

The Story Behind The Outlaw Cherie Lee

More than a collection of songs, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales unfolds as a cinematic Western revenge story centered on tragedy, vengeance and doomed romance.

After witnessing the murder of her sheriff father at the hands of the Bootcut Boys, Cherie Lee abandons the badge and sets out to hunt down the gang’s members one by one.

Her mission becomes complicated when she unexpectedly falls in love with one of the outlaws. He believes her love can redeem him, while Cherie hopes the relationship can quiet the darkness consuming her.

Neither gets the ending they imagined.

In the story’s final act, Cherie chooses revenge over love, killing the man who loves her most and ultimately becoming the very thing she set out to destroy.

Through the album’s expansive concept, Shaboozey continues to push beyond traditional genre boundaries, building a vivid world that showcases his growth as both a songwriter and a cinematic storyteller.

The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales arrives July 31.
