Shaboozey is entering a new chapter with the announcement of his fourth studio album, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, set for release on July 31 through his American Dogwood imprint in partnership with EMPIRE. Known for blending country, hip-hop, and folk influences, the artist is expanding the scope of his storytelling.

The themed album follows Cherie Lee, a woman driven by revenge after the killing of her father, a sheriff. Her pursuit of justice turns personal as she tracks down those responsible, only to find herself entangled with one of them. The story unfolds with emotional tension and moral conflict, ultimately leading her to make a final choice that reshapes who she becomes. Through this arc, Shaboozey builds a concept that plays out like a film, using music to guide each turn.

“Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going was a journal entry and an opportunity for the world to get to know more about me as a person,” Shaboozey said. “That album changed my life. I never expected people to connect with the album and enjoy it the way they did. But now I want to show the world who I am as an artist and storyteller.”

“The Outlaw Cherie Lee is a project that’s been several years in the making and has gone through many iterations,” he added. “It’s a western about revenge told continuously through every song, centered on the character Cherie Lee. It explores so many themes, as many timeless westerns have: revenge, redemption, and romance, through the eyes of a protagonist looking to challenge everything she once thought true about her world. I poured all of myself into this and I hope people become as immersed in the world and the journey as I have. This album was a promise to myself and something, no matter what, I had to keep. It pushed my songwriting and storytelling to new heights, and I couldn’t be more proud to say it’s done and almost yours.”

A first look at the album will come with the release of “Born To Die” on April 24. Around the same time, Shaboozey will appear at Stagecoach, where he plans to extend the album’s world beyond the music. An interactive saloon installation tied to the Cherie Lee storyline will give fans a chance to step into the setting, with previews and appearances scheduled throughout the weekend.

Momentum behind this release has been building since his previous album, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, which helped position him as one of the more distinctive voices in the current landscape. Tracks from that era reached wide audiences, with “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” achieving major chart success and crossing into multiple radio formats.

With a new concept, expanded production, and a rollout that includes both music and live experiences, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales signals a larger vision. More details, including the full tracklist and tour plans, are expected in the coming weeks.
