A new color on Teyana Taylor’s Air Jordan 3 “Concrete Rose” just surfaced in New York City. This alternate sample swaps the shoe’s original green palette for a full red and grey build instead.

Red covers most of the upper in place of the retail pair’s fir green base, giving the design a bolder, more direct look. A textured grey midsole runs underneath, echoing the same concrete-inspired detailing from the original release. Meanwhile, green still shows up in select spots, including the lining and interior branding, tying the sample back to its counterpart.

The rose theme also reads differently on this version. Instead of saving the floral detail for a final touch on the tongue, this sample puts the rose front and center against the red upper. That shift makes the design feel more literal, leaning fully into the “rose” side of Taylor’s concept.

This pair was shown alongside her retail Air Jordan 3 and her Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 as part of a wider showcase of her Jumpman releases. There’s no indication this version is headed to retail. But, it still offers a rare look at how the design evolved before eventually landing on its final green colorway.

Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 3 “Concrete Rose” Alternate

Taylor’s Jordan Brand story started back in 2023 with the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 “A Rose From Harlem.” That release set the tone for everything that’s followed since, tying her Harlem roots directly into each design.

“Concrete Rose” continued that theme when it released back in March, pulling its name from Tupac’s poem about beauty growing through hardship. The final shoe leaned into a nice green upper with removable rose vine accents around the collar.

Seeing an earlier red version now makes that final creative direction feel even clearer. Jordan Brand and Taylor clearly worked through multiple concepts before ultimately settling on green as the more symbolic choice.

With Taylor’s Jordan output continuing to expand, this kind of behind-the-scenes look adds real depth to a partnership built entirely on personal storytelling and lived experience.
