The Empties Edit: Why I Use This Necessaire Body Scrub Until It’s Empty Composite by India Espy-Jones By India Espy-Jones ·Updated April 13, 2026 Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…

In an industry with an overwhelming amount of product launches daily, The Empties Edit helps you cut through the noise. To help you find your new beauty and wellness favorites, this series highlights the tried-and-true products our writers constantly empty out and re-up on.

What’s a spring refresh without an everything shower? This time of year, we clean out our vanity, our wardrobe, our routines. Still, nothing feels more cleansing than a long, steamy shower—and a good body scrub. But, with all the scrubs to pick from, there’s just one that I haven’t stopped going back to: Necessaire’s The Body Exfoliator.

As a self-proclaimed minimalist, it’s not just the attractively straightforward packaging nor the emphasis on The Body Exfoliator that steals my eye (I’ll admit, though, it’s what first called me to the brand years ago). Instead, it’s knowing the formula has everything necessary.

Unlike other body scrubs, this one has both physical and chemical exfoliation. The buffing beads, which are made from Volcanic Pumice, are perfectly blended with the scrub’s gel texture. Meanwhile, the exfoliant you can’t physically see are the AHAs, BHAs, and PHAs.

If you can’t keep track of all the “HA”s, they’re exfoliating chemicals we often use on our face: Salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and lactic acid. While this one is exclusively for your body, the combination of all these exfoliants help treat and prevent KP, ingrown hairs, and rough, textured skin patches.

Meanwhile, the aroma is the cherry on top. As someone who believes your shower should be sensorial, this exfoliator comes in three scents: eucalyptus, fragrance-free, and my personal favorite, santal. The oud depths of sandalwood and black pepper find balance with spring-forward iris and jasmine.

But, even after I wash it off, the new Body Lotion makes it so I don’t have to crave more. That, layered with an oil, is the core of my everything shower routine this season (and every season after).
