BOOMMAN defends Gucci Mane in the Pooh Shiesty fallout before admitting that the same type of situation could eventually happen to him. BOOMMAN says he did not force anyone to sign and argues that many artists “bamboozled themselves.” The discussion shifts to BOOMMAN’s wealth, his Rolls-Royce and the criticism that he became successful by charging independent artists. BOOMMAN compares his success to Quality Control’s success with Migos, arguing that people celebrate established executives becoming wealthy from major artists but look down on him because his business was built around unknown and independent talent. He also reveals that he paid Gucci Mane $100,000 on two separate occasions so hundreds of independent artists could perform before a major headliner. BOOMMAN says he was creating a platform and giving artists an opportunity they could not create for themselves. Loon sees another possibility. He questions whether BOOMMAN was really spending that money for the artists—or paying famous rappers to live out the rap-industry dream he never achieved when he was an artist himself.
