Boomman says he cannot give Money Mu “Hittin” back—then claims Money Mu already received his rights. Loon presses him to explain the partnerships and advances still attached to the record. Full YouTube Description Boomman says Money Mu got his rights back. But moments earlier, Boomman tells Loon: “I can’t give the shit back.” That contradiction becomes the center of one of the most revealing parts of their conversation. Money Mu created “Hittin” and spent years pushing the original record before Authentic Empire helped finance and package the remix with Moneybagg Yo and Foogiano. Boomman says he invested approximately $500,000 into Money Mu’s career, helped transform “Hittin” into a successful record and continued spending money before seeing a return. He also says he operated from love. But Loon refuses to accept love as the complete explanation. During the conversation, Boomman acknowledges that Money Mu paid for transportation, that both sides earned money from the record, and that Boomman wanted Money Mu to perform at AE events, help other Authentic Empire artists and provide discounted features for the company’s clients. Loon argues that those were business decisions. The discussion becomes more intense when Loon tells Boomman to give Money Mu his record back. Boomman initially says he cannot simply give it back. He then says Money Mu already received his rights. When Loon asks what is still preventing Money Mu from freely maneuvering “Hittin,” Boomman reveals that partnerships had been completed around the record and explains that labels take advances on records to continue funding their businesses. That raises the question this clip attempts to answer: What did Money Mu actually get back? Did he receive a release from his artist agreement while “Hittin” remained attached to outside partnerships, advances or administrative obligations? Was Boomman protecting a legitimate investment? Or did the language of love and family create expectations that the actual business agreement never supported? Boomman argues that artists must respect the music business, their contracts and the lawyers who were present when the agreements were signed. Loon argues that if the investment was recovered and real love existed, there should have been enough patience to discuss an amendment that gave Money Mu greater control.
