Grambling State will play a historic matchup next season.

The Tigers’ men’s basketball team will visit Kentucky on Monday, Nov. 16, to play at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center in Lexington, a matchup that places the Tigers on one of the sport’s biggest stages, the school announced.

The meeting pairs the HBCU with one of college basketball’s most prominent programs, giving Grambling a chance to compete in a nationally recognized arena against a perennial heavyweight.

For Grambling, the significance goes well beyond the game itself.

The matchup offers an early-season measuring-stick opportunity against an NCAA Tournament team and Power 4 competition.

Grambling State is coming off a 2025 season where it went 14-19 overall and 7-11 in the SWAC under first-year coach Patrick Crarey.
