    Track & Field recognized for their academic dominance inside the classroom

    GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Committee uncovered its 2025-26 Track & Field/Cross Country Division I All-District Team where Howard University saw four Bison recognized for their academic excellence inside the classroom. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.
     
    Kelis Armstrong (Dallas), Cenaiya Billups(Denver), Mackenzie Robinson (Ypsilanti, Mich.) and Lauren Thompson (Frisco, Texas) were selected for their academic success.
     
    Armstrong wrapped up her collegiate career with her second straight trip to the NCAA Regionals. The Dallas native competed in the triple jump while recording a cumulative 3.92 grade point average (GPA) in health science.
     
    For Billups, she earned All-American First Team in the long hurdles (400-meter). Academically, the management major has compiled a 3.70 GPA after two seasons at Howard.
     
    Robinson made the All-American Second Team as a member of the 4×100 relay team. In the classroom, the Michigan product has amassed a 3.85 GPA while studying human performance.
     
    Thompson ended her collegiate career with an appearance at the NCAA Regional Round. The finance major raced in the 100-meter dash while posting a 3.66 GPA off the track.
     
    Earlier this month (June 4),  all four Bison were named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Commissioner’s All-Academic Team.
     
    The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Track & Field/Cross Country teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
     
    Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
     
    Howard Director of Track & Field David Oliver and the Bison wrapped up another success season, completing the triple crown for the second time in four years.
     
    HU looks to defend all three crowns for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign.
