A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after sharing how he allegedly discovered that his girlfriend was getting married to his friend’s younger brother without informing him.

According to the man, he had no idea the relationship had ended until one of his friends told him that another friend was attending his girlfriend’s wedding.

“No breakup message, nothing. She just woke up one day and disappeared. She didn’t even tell me. It was my friend that informed me one of his guys was attending my babe’s wedding,” he said.

The man said he initially believed it could be someone else with the same name, so he decided to attend the ceremony with his friend to confirm what he had been told.

He claimed he had been paying the lady’s school fees and had even asked her if she was preparing for marriage, but she denied it and told him she was only going to serve as a bridesmaid.

“When I got there, I saw her brothers and other family members. I greeted her and asked, ‘Babe, how far? What’s happening?’ She looked at me and said, ‘Who be your babe?’

Before I knew it, she called the police. They questioned me, arrested me and threw me inside a cell because they said I wanted to scatter the wedding,” he added.

The man further claimed his friend later bailed him out of detention.

Reacting to the incident, he said the experience had changed his perception of relationships, adding that he was no longer interested in marrying a Nigerian woman.

His story has since generated mixed reactions online, with many sympathising with him, while others questioned whether there was more to the story than he revealed.
