Mercedes-Benz refreshed the gas-powered 2027 C-Class with an illuminated six-point grille and star-shaped LED headlights. The cabin adds MB.OS with AI assistance, Dolby Atmos sound, and returns physical steering wheel controls.Featuring a 255-hp turbocharged inline-four with 48-volt assistance, the sedan arrives in US showrooms in early 2027.

Mercedes-Benz is blurring the visual lines between its internal combustion and electric lineups with a comprehensive refresh for the 2027 C-Class. While the brand recently introduced an entirely new electric variant, this latest update focuses on the traditional gas-powered sedan. The strategic facelift brings the ICE model closer in aesthetic alignment with its battery-powered siblings while remaining a distinct entity. The move signals a transitionary period for the German automaker as it navigates a split market by unifying its design language across multiple powertrains. The most dramatic shifts occur at the front of the vehicle. An illuminated six-point grille now dominates the fascia and heavily mirrors the bright face introduced on the GLC EV last year. Star-shaped LED headlights have trickled down to become standard fare even on base models. Buyers can further enhance the exterior with newly available wheel designs and fresh paint color options. The rear maintains a familiar profile but integrates triangular lighting elements into the taillights to complete the modernized aesthetic.Inside the cabin, the updated C-Class intentionally avoids the massive Superscreen layout found in fully electric counterparts. The interior retains a more conventional iPad-like central touchscreen and standard digital gauge cluster. This restrained layout now houses the latest MB.OS architecture to enable over-the-air updates and a highly responsive AI-backed MBUX Virtual Assistant. Physical interactions receive a welcome upgrade as tactile controls return to the steering wheel for essential functions like adaptive cruise control and volume adjustments. Audiophiles can also spec a 15-speaker Burmester 3D surround sound system equipped with Dolby Atmos.Under the hood, the United States market will receive the M254 Evo engine as standard. The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four generates 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. A 48-volt mild hybrid system supplements the setup by delivering an additional 23 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque at low speeds to optimize efficiency during stop-start driving. Engineers applied revised suspension tuning to ensure the chassis feels noticeably more agile on the road. AMG plans remain slightly guarded, though industry expectations point toward an incoming six-cylinder C53 replacing the outgoing plug-in hybrid C63.The refreshed sedan arrives in US showrooms during the first half of 2027. Official pricing structures are still unannounced, but market estimates suggest the base model will sit slightly above the current $51,000 USD starting point. The unified styling approach ensures the gas-powered C-Class will not look outdated parked next to its electric equivalent.
