Panerai drops the 44mm Luminor Marina PAM01707 in lightweight Carbotech™.The matte black sandwich dial features vintage beige Super-LumiNova® and omits the date.Powered by the P.9010 caliber, it offers 300-meter water resistance.

Panerai has officially introduced the new Luminor Marina PAM01707, a timepiece that blends the Maison's 1960s naval design codes with advanced high-tech material innovation. Framed in a bold 44mm case, the watch is constructed from Carbotech™, a carbon fiber composite compressed with PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) polymer under high pressure and temperature. This proprietary material yields a matte black, unevenly textured surface that ensures every individual piece has a unique appearance. Remarkably light yet exceptionally tough, Carbotech™ is 64% lighter than titanium and 80% lighter than steel, offering superior strength-to-weight performance and extreme corrosion resistance suited for marine exploration. At the heart of the PAM01707 is a matte black sandwich dial adorned with warm beige Super-LumiNova® that glows green in the dark, delivering a distinctly vintage tool-watch aesthetic. In a nod to Panerai's historical commissions for the Royal Italian Navy, the date window has been omitted to maintain a clean, distraction-free layout. The dial retains a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock — a feature originally designed for Italian commandos to verify that the watch was running under extreme operational conditions. The 14.5mm thick case features a DLC-coated titanium closed caseback and is paired with a warm brown vintage calf leather strap with beige stitching, alongside a second black rubber strap for sportier, aquatic pursuits.Powering the watch is the in-house P.9010 automatic caliber, a 6mm-thick movement built from 200 components and 31 jewels. Operating at 28,800 alternations per hour (4 Hz), its two series-connected barrels deliver a robust three-day power reserve. The movement integrates practical real-world functions, including a stop-seconds feature for precise synchronization and a quick time-change mechanism that allows the hour hand to jump forward or backward in one-hour increments without disrupting the minute hand. Tested to an impressive water resistance of 30 bar (~300 meters) with an additional 25% safety margin, the Luminor Marina PAM01707 is available via Panerai's official website and physical boutiques.
