Fresh off the continued success of Abbott Elementary, creator, executive producer, and star Quinta Brunson has signed a five-year overall deal with 20th Television through her production company, Fifth Chance Productions.

The agreement marks a significant move for Brunson, who previously operated under an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television. Under the new partnership, she will develop, write, and executive produce television projects across Disney’s entertainment platforms.

Despite the studio change, Brunson remains deeply involved with Abbott Elementary, which continues its run as one of television’s most successful comedies. The Emmy-winning series is preparing for its sixth season on ABC, with Brunson continuing her role as executive producer and co-showrunner.

Disney executives praised Brunson as one of the industry’s most influential creative voices, citing the cultural impact and critical success of Abbott Elementary. Brunson called the new agreement an exciting next chapter for Fifth Chance Productions and expressed enthusiasm about expanding her creative slate within the Disney family.

The move is considered one of the biggest television talent deals of the year and further strengthens Disney’s relationship with one of television’s most celebrated creators.
