Davenport reportedly argues that she raised Takeoff as a single mother and was his primary source of emotional and financial support, while Ball is seeking an equal share of the settlement. The dispute adds another layer to the legal fallout surrounding Takeoff's death. Davenport filed a wrongful death lawsuit in 2023 against 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, where Takeoff was fatally shot outside the venue. The lawsuit accused the business of failing to provide proper security, crowd screening, and other safety measures despite allegedly knowing a celebrity-heavy event could bring a large crowd. Takeoff, born Kirsnick Khari Ball, died on November 1, 2022, after a shooting outside the bowling alley. Authorities said the 28-year-old rapper was struck during the incident, and Patrick Xavier Clark was later charged with murder in connection with the case. The latest fight appears to center on who should receive the money from the wrongful death settlement, not just who controls Takeoff's estate. Reports say Davenport believes Georgia probate court is the proper place to handle the matter, while Ball argues he is entitled to half of the money as Takeoff's father. The issue is complicated because Takeoff reportedly died without a will, trust, spouse, or children. In situations like that, courts often have to determine how assets or settlement proceeds should be distributed under state law. Wrongful death settlements can be especially difficult because the money may be tied to the losses suffered by surviving family members, rather than being treated exactly like regular estate property. #blackmillionairespodcast #blackmillionaires #jameshilltv #takeoff
