Summaryadidas unveils CLIMACOOL SYSTEM with vest, jacket and overshoe to combat extreme heat at FIFA World Cup 2026Technology lowers core body temperature and improves enduranceThis innovation joins federation kits, TRIONDA ball and F50 Hyperfast Evo bootsadidas has unveiled the CLIMACOOL SYSTEM, a performance innovation designed to help athletes withstand the high temperatures expected at the FIFA World Cup 2026.Originally developed for motorsport drivers, the system has been adapted for football through extensive testing with clubs like Manchester United, Juventus and Arsenal. It consists of three components : a cooling vest, an insulating jacket and overshoe, all engineered to lower core body temperature, improve heat tolerance and boost endurance. The vest uses a frozen gel that gradually thaws to cool the torso, abdomen, and back, while the jacket’s airproof construction prolongs the cooling effect. Together, they can reduce core body temperature by up to 0.5°C and skin temperature by 13°C.The overshoe provides targeted relief for players’ feet, reducing foot temperature by 2°C within seven minutes without compromising sensitivity or dexterity for dribbling, passing or shooting. This innovation joins adidas’ broader World Cup lineup, which includes federation kits made with CLIMACOOL+ materials, the TRIONDA Official Match Ball featuring Connected Ball Technology and the lightweight F50 Hyperfast Evo boots. By equipping all adidas partner federations with the CLIMACOOL SYSTEM, the brand reinforces its commitment to athlete performance in extreme conditions, ensuring players remain cool and competitive across host cities like Miami, Dallas and Monterrey.
