As the NBA free agency saga surrounding LeBron James reaches a fever pitch, few analysts have been as vocal, plugged-in, or uncensored about the King’s next chapter as ESPN analyst and NBA champion Kendrick Perkins.

Whether forecasting a storybook return to the North Coast or breaking down how a 41-year-old icon continues to defy father time, Big Perk hasn’t held back.

To understand where LeBron’s head is as he weighs his future, you have to go back to Perkins’ candid appearance on Scoop B Radio, where he laid out why LeBron remains the ultimate equalizer in professional basketball.

“I’m Convinced He Can Go Out There and Win One With Anybody”

Reflecting on LeBron’s remarkable Year 23, Perkins pointed out that what James is doing at 41 years old isn’t just unprecedented—it defies standard basketball logic. Facing tough postseason competition with a re-tooled roster, James proved once again that his greatest superpower is elevating everyone around him.

“A 41-year-old is not supposed to be doing this,” Perkins told Scoop B Radio.

“A 41-year-old is not still supposed to be the best basketball player in the series, which he is right now.”

Perkins highlighted how LeBron empowered a revamped core—ranging from Deandre Ayton to Marcus Smart and Luke Kennard—and brought out their absolute best under the bright lights.

“At this point I’m at sole belief that me, you, Unc [Shay-Shay], Stephen A…. you can only put Greeny in there. If we was on the floor with Bron he’d make us better. I’m convinced that he can go out there and win one with anybody,” Perkins said.

“And I’ma tell you this, the thing that I saw when that video started circulating and he posted it: First one in the building right before the playoffs. The first thing that came to mind was, I know that. I know that shit right there. I used to share a locker room with them. I was part of that. I know what that is. That boy there is ready! And I kept telling people, ‘I’m tellin’ y’all straight up, ‘Bron James is coming with it!’”

The Cleveland Reunion: “Why Not? It’s Set Up Perfectly”

As rumors swirl around potential suitors—ranging from the Miami Heat to the Golden State Warriors—the noise surrounding a third stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers continues to grow. For Perkins, who shared a locker room with James in Cleveland, the decision is as clear as day.

When asked on Scoop B Radio if he sees LeBron returning to where it all began, Big Perk didn’t hesitate:

“He should. I mean, why not? I mean, it’s set up perfectly. They want you there and it’s set up perfectly so that you can end it where it all started at. Why not?”

    What’s Next for The King?

With agent Rich Paul indicating that James could play up to two more seasons, the league remains on high alert. Whether LeBron chooses to make one last title run in Southern California or orchestrate a legendary farewell tour back home in Ohio, one thing is certain: Kendrick Perkins called the intensity, the longevity, and the narrative long before the free agency clock started ticking.
